1 Thessalonians 5:17
It’s a very short verse but it says so much.
Prayer is our way of communicating with our Abba. HE should be the most important person in our lives as HE is our creator. HE promises to provide for us when we seek HIM first Matthew 6:33.
HE gives us protection and keeps us from the plagues to come. He gives us his instructions Exodus 20:1-17 and draws near to us when we draw near to HIM James 4:8.
Think about your most important relationships. Is it a spouse, a friend, or someone you just love to be around?
Do you miss them when you are not with them?
Do you seek out time to be together?
Do your conversations bring you comfort?
Do they encourage you and build you up?
Do they call you out when you are out of line and tell you when you are wrong?
Do you schedule time to be with that person and give them your every focus by turning off your phone and shutting out all other distractions?
Companionship is a very important, even crucial part of our being. GOD wants a relationship with you. GOD wants to guide you and bless you in every part of your life. HIS desire is to walk with us and talk with us. Genesis 3:8,9.
Do you make time to be with just HIM? Matthew 6:6
How often do you draw near to GOD in prayer?
What kind of relationship do you want with your creator?
Now imagine how well you would know your friends if you talked to them as much as you prayed to GOD. How could you ever get to know them or stay close? How important would you make them feel if you talked to them as much as you pray?
How compelled would they be to respond to you if you talked to them as much as you pray? Do you think you deserve any response at all? Revelation 3:16
We all have time in our day to acknowledge our Creator. Start each morning just by saying “Good Morning Father.” Invite him into your day to guide you. Ask HIM to let you hear his voice and lead you toward HIS will. Share with HIM what’s on your heart and ask HIM to open your eyes to HIS path.
Set an alarm at a time of day or night you know you can turn off everything and just spend time with HIM. Schedule 30 minutes to start. Approach the King with honor and humility Matthew 6:9.
Make a list of those you want to hold up in prayer. Your country and it’s leaders, Your pastor, GOD’s people around the world.
Do you know anyone who is sick?
Do you know anyone who needs GOD’s provision?
You will quickly find that 30 minutes is a very short time!
