The Habit of Reading the Bible Regularly

Dennis Ziesmer - Treasurer

Scripture: "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." - Psalm 119:105 (NKJV)

The Bible is more than just a book, it's God’s instructions for living our lives. Our world is filled with busyness and constant distractions.  Reading the Bible daily serves as a foundation for our lives. The words written by prophets, apostles, and inspired authors provide timeless wisdom, guidance, and comfort.

Reading the bible each day renews our sense of purpose and direction. When we spend time in the Bible daily, we allow God's word to light up our path and give us clarity and insight for the day ahead. It's through his text that God speaks to us, offering encouragement in times of despair, wisdom in moments of confusion, and joy in seasons of sorrow.

Studying the Bible daily also helps us grow spiritually. Just as our bodies need nourishment, our spirits thrive on the nourishment of God's word. The more time we are in the Scriptures, the deeper our understanding of God's character. And His will for our lives becomes move clear. This daily practice strengthens our faith and equips us to face life's challenges.

Commit to spending time the Bible every day, even if it's just a few verses. Find a quiet space where you can reflect on the words without interruption. Consider using a Bible devotional guide to help you stay on track. Take time to meditate on what you see and ask God to reveal His truth and wisdom to you.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Your word. Help me to make it a priority to spend time in the Bible each day. Help me to grow closer to You and gain wisdom for my life. Light up my path with Your truth and guide me in all that I do. Amen.

I hope your daily practice of reading the Bible draws you closer to God and fills your life with His light.
